Feline-Only Veterinary Technician – Asheville, North Carolina

Feline-Only Veterinary Technician – Asheville, North Carolina

The Cat Clinic of Asheville is certified as a gold level Cat Friendly clinic with a strong focus on providing gold standard veterinary care in a Fear-Free environment. Our caseload consists of everything from new kitten adoption appointments to second and third opinion consultations with our surgical caseload focusing predominantly on dentistry.

We take the culture and working environment within our clinic very seriously as we believe whole-heartedly in the importance of work-life balance and maintaining enjoyment and fulfillment in what we do. The clinic is privately owned (not corporate) and managed in a team-oriented approach with feedback to management always encouraged. Most importantly, we do not tolerate belligerent, aggressive, or otherwise abusive behavior from our clientele – we want to work with our clients, not against them!

We are open Monday through Friday, with no weekend client appointments (only one weekend every other month as back up for our boarding staff). Our full time staff members work a set schedule of no more than four days a week and are typically scheduled for 30-36 hours to avoid overtime and burnout. We maintain a high staff to DVM ratio and encourage our staff to fully utilize their skill set in client communication and education, collecting diagnostic samples, and treatment of our patients (doctors do “doctor stuff”, our techs handle the rest). Our medical staff is highly experienced and qualified, so you can be assured of working with the best veterinary team in the area!

If you truly love working with cats and have experience in low stress or Fear Free handling, we’d love to hear how you could contribute to our team! We are currently looking for a part-time or full-time veterinary technician or assistant with at least 3 years of experience working in a veterinary clinical environment (not rescue). The perfect candidate will express a genuine love for cats, dedication to low stress handling, and the right personality to fit-in with our amazing staff. Growth opportunities including management potential available for the right candidate. Competitive pay based on candidate experience and licensure and full verses pert-time status. Benefits include paid time off, quarterly profit sharing bonuses, 401k with match, uniform allowance, CE and licensure reimbursement, and generous veterinary care discounts for all, as well as health, dental, vision, and life insurance options for full time staff.
