Introduction of Ultrasound to the Feline Urinary Tract Workshop
The use of point-of-care ultrasound (POCUS) is steadily growing in veterinary general practice, thanks to advances in technology that have made ultrasound more accessible and user-friendly. While many veterinarians are eager to incorporate ultrasound into their practice, they often aren’t sure where to begin. This Workshop will focus on ultrasound scanning techniques for the kidneys and bladder, with a strong emphasis on the bladder. Participants will learn fundamental scanning techniques, how to obtain accurate measurements, and how to identify common conditions affecting the upper and lower urinary tracts. Additionally, participants will have access to multiple phantom models, including a kidney model, bladder phantoms (some normal, some with pathology), target phantoms, and vascular phantoms to practice needle techniques.

Cat Friendly Interactions & Handling Workshop for Technicians
The goals of Cat Friendly handling are to minimize feline stressors and to promote positive veterinary experiences for cats, subsequently increasing feline welfare, caregiver loyalty, and human safety. More appropriate handling techniques are provided for cats that continue to display fear or other negative emotions despite our best efforts. Understanding the cat is the foundation of feline handling principles and techniques. Cats are unique animals because they are the only solitary hunter that can live amicably with people. They have strong survival instincts and protective mechanisms when they perceive threats, which are not uncommon during veterinary visits. This hands-on Workshop will begin with an updated summary presentation to help understand cats and why certain handling techniques work best. This will be followed by a breakout into small groups with a demonstration of multiple techniques; each attendee will then have the opportunity to apply those techniques utilizing live cats.
