The FelineVMA has established a dues waiver program to support current members who may need temporary financial assistance to maintain their membership and continue receiving access to FelineVMA membership benefits (except as noted below). Member requests can be related to an individual’s financial hardship based on temporary leave from the workforce for any reason except retirement.
The following member types are eligible for this program:
- Individual Veterinarian
- Recent Grad
- Intern/Resident
- Veterinary Technician
Member types and subscriber levels not supported by this program are:
- Senior/Retired Members
- LATAM Members
- NAVTA/FelineVMA Joint Members
- All subscriber levels – Practice Manager, Support Staff, Shelter/Rescue, Feline Support
Criteria:
Members who seek hardship assistance and who attest that they anticipate earning no significant income from practicing veterinary medicine in the forthcoming year are eligible to apply. Eligibility criteria includes:
- Having maintained an active FelineVMA Membership for at least three consecutive years preceding the request.
- Complete the application form below, that includes a brief explanation of the situation and attests that they anticipate earning no significant income during the forthcoming year.
Terms:
Members who meet the above criteria and submit an application will have their membership dues waived for one membership cycle (one calendar year). Members are allowed to reapply for up to two consecutive years, but no more than five years during their membership lifetime. An application must be completed for each request. All applications remain confidential.
Members who are accepted into the dues waiver program will receive the digital edition of The Feline Practitioner, in addition to maintaining access to other member programs and discounts.
Dues waivers granted in January – September will be applied to the current membership year. Dues waivers granted in October – December will be applied to the following membership year. All memberships are valid through the calendar year (January 1 – December 31) unless otherwise noted.
The FelineVMA reserves the right to modify or terminate the program at any time, permitting any participants to remain members through the end of the current membership cycle in the event of program termination.
