Board Nominations

This is your opportunity to help shape the future of the AAFP by serving on the AAFP Executive Board!

The AAFP Executive Board’s role is to:

  • Offer strategic guidance, direction, and resources for the Association
  • Act in the best interests of the Association
  • Provide fiduciary oversight to lead the Association toward a sustainable future

The Governance Committee will be seeking nominations for the 2025-2026 Executive Board in early February 2025. Positions will be open for Directors and President-Elect. The terms will begin on September 21, 2025.

Directors serve a two-year term; the President-Elect serves for one year and becomes President the following year and then Immediate Past President. The minimum requirement to serve as a board member is at least three years as a Member of the AAFP. Volunteering, involvement in committees, attendance at AAFP conferences, and the ability to work as a team player will also be considered by the Governance Committee when submitting its recommended slate of nominees to the Board.
