The American Association of Feline Practitioners Announces New Educational Resources for Members to Advance the Standard of Care for Cats

Four new benefits deliver practical veterinary tools and the latest in feline scientific research

BRIDGEWATER, NJ; March 9, 2023 – The American Association of Feline Practitioners (AAFP) launched (or released) four valuable new member benefits, which are the result of AAFP’s robust strategic plan for 2022-2025. These new benefits are designed to provide AAFP Members with valuable resources and information to enhance the health and wellbeing of cats.

The Feline Practitioner Magazine

This new quarterly print and digital magazine is the go-to resource for AAFP Members. Issues of The Feline Practitioner feature RACE-approved CE medical articles, feline educational features, clinical case studies, practical reviews, conversations with experts, technician talk articles, member news, AAFP news, and more! Medical co-editors are Jessica Quimby, DVM, Ph.D., DACVIM, and Kelly St. Denis, MSc, DVM, DABVP (Feline).

AAFP All Cats Considered Podcast

All Cats Considered is the new monthly podcast, available exclusively for AAFP Members. This podcast takes a deep dive into many feline health and wellbeing topics. With interviews from veterinary professionals from around the world, All Cats Considered covers a wide range of topics and recent developments sharing the key points members need to know to improve their patients’ care. Launched episodes of All Cats Considered include:

These new resources are designed to help convey the major tenets of AAFP Practice Guidelines in a short, easy-to-read format. They can be easily printed and posted in veterinary practices for quick access. AAFP Members can access exclusive Guideline Briefs that cover an array of important topics such as House-soiling, Feline Vaccinations, Cat Friendly Veterinary Interactions, and the Cat Friendly Veterinary Environment. Coming soon are Briefs on Feline Retroviruses and the Senior Care Guidelines.

 JFMS Monthly

JFMS Monthly is a new member-only monthly bulletin that highlights the latest articles from the AAFP’s open-access journal, the Journal of Feline Medicine and Surgery. Abstract summaries, along with supplemental features from Clinical Spotlight articles such as podcast interviews with the authors, are delivered to AAFP Members’ inboxes each month.
